Our team at Murphy Dental Home knows how important deciding on a dental office can be for you and your family. We want to help you make the right choice, which is why we have provided answers for some of the frequently asked dental questions that we get from patients on a regular basis. If you have questions that aren’t listed below, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team and ask! We look forward to working with you and improving your smile.
How often should I visit the dentist?
Like the American Dental Association, we recommend coming in for a dental checkup and cleaning at least every six months. In addition to daily oral hygiene, this semiannual visit is critical for preventing serious problems like cavities and gum disease. Even if you already have an existing issue, we’ll be able to catch and treat it early on—before significant damage is done to your smile.
Do you treat children?
Yes, we do! Giving kids good memories at the dentist’s office can have an impact on the rest of their lives, and we love helping young patients have positive dental experiences. Our team is patient, friendly, and gentle, helping your child feel right at home.
Does a root canal hurt?
Although some patients report feeling pain before the root canal is performed, the procedure itself involves little to no discomfort and prevents future decay or infection in the tooth. Afterward, any pain should be significantly reduced. This procedure also helps you keep the natural tooth, which would need to be extracted without root canal therapy.
What orthodontic options do you offer?
We are proud to offer three orthodontic treatments, including traditional metal braces, Invisalign, and accelerated orthodontics. Because we customize our treatments to fit each patient’s needs, we will need to have a consultation with you first to determine which option is the right one for you!
Do you perform dental implant placement?
Yes! Dr. Gandhi and the rest of our team have the training and experience to handle the implant placement procedure in-house, which means that you won’t have to worry about going to a specialist’s office at any stage of the process. With us, tooth replacement can be simple, effective, and beneficial.
